For 38 years, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation has honored programming that is created for women, by women and about women, as well as individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the industry.  The Gracies encourage and honor the realistic and faceted portrayal of women in entertainment, news, features and other programs.  The Gracies Gala brings together industry luminaries, broadcasting and cable professionals, and journalism students who gather to celebrate the outstanding achievements of their colleagues and peers. Winners in national categories were honored at an evening event in Los Angeles, CA on May 21, 2013.
