Andrew Heyward is a nationally known news executive and expert on the changing media landscape. He helps media companies transform their businesses to drive growth and revenue in an age of rapid and disruptive evolution.
As a principal in the boutique strategy firm MarketspaceNext LLC, as a senior advisor to Monitor Group, and in his own advisory practice, Heyward works with blue-chip television, newspaper, magazine, and marketing clients to develop new online ventures and profitable digital strategies. He is also an advisor to early-stage and startup firms.
Heyward was President, CBS News, from January 1996-November 2005. During that time, CBS News programming grew significantly in audience, regularly scheduled hours and profitability. Heyward also spearheaded CBS News’s expansion into digital media.
Before his tenure as President, Heyward was executive producer, THE CBS EVENING NEWS (October 1994-January 1996). Heyward was also responsible for developing and launching 48 HOURS, the weekly primetime CBS News series that premiered in January 1988. He has won 12 national Emmy Awards.

As CEO of Digitas, Laura leads the largest digital agency in the world with over 3000 employees in 32 offices across 19 countries and is a member of the Publicis Groupe executive committee and the VivaKi board of directors. Since taking the helm in 2007, the agency has achieved the two best years of new business growth in its history, adding more than 90 new clients worldwide in 2009.
Under Laura’s leadership, Digitas has expanded its global footprint with new offices in Australia, Brazil, India, Singapore and Sweden and has become one of the leading buyers of digital media worldwide. In addition, the agency has been recognized on Advertising Age’s A-List and as an Agency of the Year by: Festival of Media, OMMA Magazine, Adweek Magazine, BtoB Magazine, Les Agences de l’Année (Best Interactive) and Medical Marketing & Media.
Prior to being named worldwide CEO of Digitas in 2008, Laura led operations in the U.S. and helped grow the agency to be recognized as a leading digital marketing agency. Appointed to this role in 2004, she previously led the Digitas New York office and played a key role in the agency’s Initial Public Offering.
During her 20-plus years in the marketing communications industry, Laura has garnered experience in brand management, corporate strategy and strategic consulting. Prior to joining Digitas in 1999, she was president of Marketing Corporation of America, providing strategic consulting services to clients in the pharmaceutical, technology, entertainment, and financial services industry. Previously, she led the consulting practice at Yankelovich Clancy Shulman providing strategic marketing services to Fortune and Service 100 clients. Before becoming a consultant, Laura worked in strategic planning for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, as well as product management at Bristol Myers and the Quaker Oats Company.
She serves on the advisory board of the Tufts University Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute, the Board of Directors of Benchmark Electronics and co-chairs “The One Hundred,” a committee dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the groundbreaking work being done at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
A summa cum laude graduate of Tufts University, Laura holds an M.B.A. from the University Of Pennsylvania Wharton School Of Business.

Since 2008, Paul Rossi has filled the role of Managing Director and Executive Vice President of The Economist Group for the Americas, which includes The Economist magazine, Economist events and conferences, and research and brand extensions. Paul is also the Global Managing Director for The Economist online. In addition to overseeing The Economist Group and The Economist online, he is also responsible for the Ideas People Channel, an advertising network based on The Economist audience, as well as Economist Online Fairs, an online fairs business for education, recruitment, and business services.
Paul joined The Economist in 1987, managing advertising sales for the Middle East and Africa. In 1990, he opened The Economist’s office in Singapore, where he served as Advertising Director in Asia. He became Advertising Director in North America in 1996. In 2000, Paul became Commercial Director of The Economist online, and Publisher of the site in 2003, where he further established the website as a profitable global business. In January 2005, he was named Publisher of The Economist in North America, responsible for all commercial aspects of The Economist, including advertising, circulation and marketing for The Economist magazine, The Economist online, and other Economist-brand businesses.
In 2007, BtoB Media Business named Paul one of its top publishing innovators. In 2008, Adweek called The Economist the hottest magazine in America, naming Paul one of two Executives of the Year along with The Economist’s Editor-in-Chief.
Paul serves on the board of the Hope Program, a career development program for homeless and welfare-dependent adults in New York City.

Lauren Zalaznick, President of NBC Universal Women & Lifestyle Entertainment Networks, oversees Bravo Media, Oxygen Media, and iVillage. She also founded and oversees the NBCU portfolio’s pro-social initiatives – Green is Universal and the newly established Healthy At NBCU, NBC Universal’s health and wellness program. She was named President, NBC Universal Women and Lifestyle Entertainment Networks in May 2008, when she added iVillage to her portfolio and announced the launch of Women@NBCU, a sales and marketing initiative designed to create custom solutions for advertisers seeking to connect with a highly targeted female demographic.
Zalaznick is co-chair of GE Capitals’ Peacock Equity and is a member of the NBC Universal Foundation board and chairs the Women@NBCU advisory board. Zalaznick also is a member of New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s MediaNYC2020 and sits on the Brown University Women’s Leadership Council and the Brown University Creative Arts Council. In 2009, Time magazine named Zalaznick one of the “The Time 100 World’s Most Influential people,” Vanity Fair named her to their “New Establishment” list, Fortune included her in their “50 Most Powerful Women” issue and she was the subject of a New York Times Magazine cover story in October 2008.
Zalaznick received her B.A. from Brown University -- a double major in English literature and pre-med -- and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
