JOB SUMMARY:

Sporting News Media is seeking a Digital Media Sales Planner/Account Manager to join our Marketing/Sales team to help manage and plan digital media across all properties and platforms of Sporting News Media including; display, video, mobile web, tablet, social. This individual will play a critical role in developing and managing successful online advertising programs for key clients.

The Digital Sales Planner will work closely with the sales and marketing/strategy teams throughout the pre- and post-sales RFP process and be responsible for assisting the Marketing/Strategy team in the daily responsibilities of the New York and outer sales offices to drive revenue and overachieve on the team’s goals.


ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with sales and marketing teams to build digital media plans for advertisers and agencies including;  display, video, mobile, mobile web, social and tablet offerings
  • Proactively work with the sales/marketing teams to manage existing campaign business and pursue new business opportunities
  • Assist with all responses to RFPs, the development of proposals, internal and client-facing reporting, research requests and overall marketing materials
  • Serve as primary point of contact to existing clients on issues regarding performance reports and general campaign management
  • Effectively optimize campaign performance by recommending adjustments to inventory and creativecomponents of the campaign.
  • Responsible for day-to-day communication with internal and external contacts to monitor campaign delivery and contract compliance, ensuring full revenue recognition and client objectives success.
  • Play a key role in the launch of new campaigns, including requesting creative from the client, ensuring campaigns are set up correctly and monitoring launches, including sending out screenshots.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of available advertising programs, site information and resources.
  • Input RFP responses into internal systems, client external templates and third party planning systems.
  • Utilize third-party research tools to support plan recommendations and provide competitive spending   analysis.
  • Represent Sporting News Media with a high level of integrity and knowledge and act as a resource for all clients and agencies.
  • **Opportunities available in both New York and Chicago sales offices 


REQUIREMENTS:

     The successful individual in this position needs the following:

  • 1 year of agency or digital planning experience recommended/preferred
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and multi-task organization of multiple projects at any given time
  • Strong understanding of the media business, online marketing and the advertising community
  • Ability to deliver accurate, professional work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills; excellent analytical skills; results and detail oriented; accountable; strong work ethic; strong team player; proactive self-starter; creative/strategic thinker who is process oriented and has the ability to multi-task
  • Proficient computer skills including solid knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and CRM systems. Familiarity with DART, MediaVisor, SalesForce, ComScore, and Nielsen@Plan.
