Director, Corporate Marketing

The Opportunity

The Director, Corporate Marketing will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will have a unique opportunity to be part of a team of successful entrepreneurs who have extensive experience in managing distinctive, scalable companies. The Company boasts an open, high energy, entrepreneurial and collaborative environment.  This is a highly visible, newly created position that is core to the company’s strategy, vision and aggressive growth plans.

As consumers increasingly use multiple devices to search, browse, and transact, advertisers are aggressively investing in multi-screen campaigns; a survey from Nielsen and the Association of National Advertisers estimates half of marketers’ budgets will be comprised of multi-screen advertising campaigns by 2016.  This creates new targeting and segmentation challenges for retailers and subscription brands to obtain returns on ad spend while pinpointing the sources of the highest value consumers.  Having solved the mobile commerce challenge of delivering relevant ads to consumers within mobile apps, our client has now solved the challenge of delivering relevant content to consumers across any platform or device. Their  solution provides retailers and marketers with an easy to implement, 100% privacy compliant solution to mobile app and cross-screen retargeting.

The Director, Corporate Marketing role is a newly created position that will afford the selected candidate the opportunity to assume a pivotal, critical role and to directly impact the growth and success of the company.   S/he will be responsible for further establishing the Company as a leader in mobile-app and cross-screen retargeting.  This individual will be a critical member of the Marketing leadership team and will have a collaborative relationship with senior executives, including the CEO.

The selected individual will be responsible for corporate marketing including the development and implementation of the corporate marketing strategy.  This will include the development of strategy for and communications with, external audiences including media, industry constituencies and partner companies. S/he will be responsible for corporate branding and will be steward and champion of the corporate brand. Included in his/her responsibilities will be the development and execution of PR and communication strategies, identification of channels, events and media for distribution and production of content for use in digital and traditional communications channels including print, web, website, social media, etc.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive Corporate Marketing plan that consists of paid media, social, PR and marketing communications, branding and events
  • In concert with the management of an external agency, lead and manage all external communication including press releases and company announcements, media and analyst outreach and social content to further establish the Company as a thought-leader in the mobile and retargeting space.
  • Builds on the Company’s highly effective, nationwide events strategy including identifying conferences and speaking opportunities as well as planning ActionX sponsored events.
  • Partner with internal sales team to create product and vertically focused sales collateral
  • Develop and maintain corporate branding and other templates used by market-facing teams including the application of relevant branding elements, company facts, collateral, etc.
  • Performs and/or coordinates market research and analysis and creates and implements actionable strategies based on data, insights and results.
  • Maintains, communicates and leverages knowledge of industry benchmarks, trends, data, emerging technologies and innovations as well as competitive information and activities.

 

Candidate Qualifications

S/he must be a highly enthusiastic, charismatic, articulate and confident individual with a track record of driving success through innovative, sound marketing initiatives. 

The ideal candidate will be flexible, able to thrive in an entrepreneurial, pro-active environment and have a heightened sense of urgency and accountability. S/he will bring a combination of experience in brand development and management, digital marketing, PR and communications and event management. Qualified candidates will embrace the Company's strong commitment to growth and the achievement of company goals.

Business Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of increasing responsibility in a business-to-business marketing role in the Ad-Tech space, digital marketing and/or PR/Event Management space. Experience in a start-up environment or in building a new brand is desired.
  • Exceptional track record of developing and implementing effective marketing programs.
  • Experience in the building (from its infancy), advocacy, recognition and communication of a strong corporate brand.
  • Ability to form and communicate an independent point-of-view; provide thought leadership challenge the status quo and personally invest in his/her results and achievements.
  • Leverage and optimize limited resources for maximum results. Influence others, champion new ideas and gain stakeholder support for initiatives. Ability to “debate” strategies, and to give and receive constructive criticism and feedback.
  • Leverage social media complements such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. to provide crisp, timely and thought provoking responses to industry trends and activities.
  • Must balance innovative, creative and strategic ability with thought leadership and quantitative, analytical skills in an environment without established or rigid infrastructure and processes.
  • Demonstrated success in presenting to executive leadership and working collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes and adjust instantly, when required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including excellent relationship development, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Comfort with metrics, performance data and analytics including the ability to monitor, measure, report on and interpret the results of all marketing activities.
  • Ability to quickly develop and apply a thorough understanding of ActionX products and capabilities.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with regularly shifting priorities.
