FleishmanHillard - Managing Supervisor Healthcare Media Relations

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

FleishmanHillard’s Media Group is looking for a creative, motivated, energetic, self-starting Managing Supervisor to join our New York office. This position provides the opportunity to work on healthcare media strategy, producing high-quality results and implementing public relations tactics for multiple top-tier clients.  There is opportunity for growth in our vibrant, thriving media team.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct interaction with clients, client spokespersons via e-mail and in-person (including staffing interviews and light media coaching).
  • Provide media expertise to clients, account team and media team staff.
  • Oversee planning, strategy and execution of media relations projects on a daily basis.
  • Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with top-tier media contacts.
  • Develop strategies for national healthcare media.
  • Develop and execute high-quality media programs from conception to execution to placement.
  • Help manage sensitive reactive media issues.
  • Provide high-level strategic thinking for myriad media inquiries.
  • Oversee junior staff projects and assist with career growth.


 

Key Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience providing public relations counsel to clients.
  • Proven track record of success securing coverage and building relationships with key healthcare media (top-tier publications, trades and broadcast).
  • Strong capabilities in media relations, from strategy development to generating results.
  • Proven ability to contribute to compelling new business proposals and presenting them effectively and persuasively.
  • Ability to lead internal planning meetings and brainstorm sessions; exercise excellent judgment with the ability to think 'outside of the box.'
  • Demonstrated experience executing public relations plans and the ability to draft and implement strategic public relations programs within budget.
  • Develop and edit high quality written materials, including media correspondence and story angles; and illustrate strong presentation skills.



Preferred:

  • Awareness and interest in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector.
  • Polished professional who can have client-ready communications both in-person and written (client includes the client PR contact and executive spokespersons).
