Move, Inc - Sr Product Manager - Professional Products

In this critical individual contributor role in the Product Management organization, reporting to the SVP of Product Management, you will lead product management initiatives focused primarily on to connecting real estate professionals with audiences in order to increase the number of home sales transactions.  You will work with multiple teams across four geographies, and spend time directly with our audience (typically, home buyers and sellers) and end-customer Advertisers and strategic partners to better incorporate their goals into your online experiences.  You will work hand-in-hand with peers, the user experience and design group, our sales teams, business development and product development to define the direction and implementation of programs designed to grow revenues and improve customer retention.

Your role will be dynamic and challenging.  You will be expected to have broad exposure to online and mobile concepts, competitive assessment, market insights and monetization of real estate vertical search experiences.  Further, you will be expected to balance audience needs with advertiser experience goals in a way that maximizes repeat usage of our online sites and optimizes for both revenue and quality experience. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry and technology experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand professional user problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company because your product line(s) matter. You will work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.

You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, often working with the sales channel and key customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Combine a unique ability to think strategically while supporting tactical tasks
  • Define and gain executive support for the product strategy and roadmap
  • Deliver epics and user stories with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Propose an overall budget to ensure success
  • Brief and train the sales force and technical support prior to any product release
  • Act as a leader within the company

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, business or computer science (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 5-6 years of progressive success in CRM, online media or mobile product management; or
  • 5 – 6 years dot-com, CRM or mobile product development experience with a proven track record of successful product maturity and revenue growth
  • Total of 10+ years overall online product management / development experience
  • Prior experience in a product management or development capacity in real estate or related industries or advertising a plus
  • Direct first level management experience a plus
  • Effectiveness in matrix organizations is key
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products via Agile SDLC methodology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable and effective in public speaking situations
  • Technical background, with experience in digital advertising, social networking and/or mobility
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Experience working in the Real Estate software industry, in consulting or in residential Brokerage is highly desirable

    
Location:        San Jose, CA with 20-30%  travel to clients/move offices/industry events
