Window to the World Communications, Inc. (WTTW/WFMT) - General Sales Manager, WTTW

The General Sales Manager will lead the WTTW sales team to meet established revenue goals via media schedules and sponsorships of WTTW content across all platforms. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree required. A combination of related sales training, business development strategies and financial reporting experience is desired.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Minimum 7+ years television and digital sales experience, including at least 2+ years managing a sales team. Candidate must have a proven track record in meeting revenue goals for on-air and/or online sales, along with successful new business development. An understanding of Media Research tools is desired. Membership in media related trade organizations, as well as experience with non-profit organizations, also a plus.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Extensive knowledge of marketing, advertising and media sales industry.
  • Robust brand/client/agency relationships and contacts.
  • Ability to successfully manage, mentor and build sales staff to produce revenue results. 
  • Provide superior client service.
  • Oversee and manage sales budget, forecasts and reports.
  • Ability to innovate sales offerings and develop multi-platform strategic strategies, plans and proposals.
  • Exceptional communicator (verbal & written).
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task.
  • Passion for public media and its role in marketing landscape.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and motivate team of account executives responsible for seeking out and securing revenue opportunities for television, digital and print media in conjunction with the content created by WTTW.
  • Oversee media research, event execution and administrative staff.
  • Support national sales activity.
  • Effectively communicate on behalf of sales team with SVP and management team.
  • Maintain and service account list.
  • Coach and accompany account executives on client calls.
  • Provide ongoing sales training to entire team.
  • Create and foster positive team environment.
  • Formulate and develop sales packages.
  • Identify and target viable sales opportunities.
  • Identify problems, challenges and solutions.
