Horizon Media, Inc. - Sr. Manager, Channel Insights

The primary objective of the WHERE group is to uncover insightful, actionable, and measureable channel connections that move a business forward.  We are applying leading edge business intelligence technologies to communications planning and activation, as well as evolving more accurate and accountable approaches to measurement and optimization.

Within the WHERE group, the Channel Insights team specializes in helping to enhance the development of plan strategy and architecture based on specific client challenges.  Channel Insights also focuses on brand team adoption and understanding of proprietary tools and resources.

 

The WHERE group is looking for a Senior Manager of their Channel Insights division who will manage channel planning projects as directed by the Director, Channel Insights and VP, Director of WHERE. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Establish consistent media planning practices and protocols through use of Horizon Media’s proprietary tools and resources
  • Partner with Brand Teams to onboard new clients and partners by presenting WHERE capabilities
  • Find and apply channel insights to specific brands
  • Assist in the rollout of new media resources
  • Lead digital literacy initiative for WHERE Group
  • Contribute in development of cross education plan between WHERE & Digital Groups
  • Collaborate with rest of the team on WHERE team initiatives
  • Manage and prioritize day-to-day workflow of the Channel Insights Team
  • Construct and evolve proprietary tools and methods

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6-8 years in the media industry, with a strong planning background, preferably on a brand heavily focused in applying research
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience distilling complex datasets and information into simple presentations aligned with a central story/idea
  • Strong knowledge of digital planning & buying landscape and resources
  • Extensive knowledge of Nielsen TV systems (NPower, MediaView), and digital systems (comScore, Nielsen Online, etc.), a plus
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word (Especially skillful with Excel)
  • Experience managing junior level staff
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Keen eye for detail
