Position Summary:

One of the fastest-growing, independent ad shops seeks a strong Total Market Media Planning Supervisor who knows how to multi-task in today’s rapidly changing media landscape. Position Responsibilities:

  • Knows and keeps up-to-date on all available market and consumer information necessary for the preparation of the most effective and efficient media plan:  target analysis, competitive assessment, business challenges, media marketplace
  • Works closely with all assigned media personnel in the group with evaluation of media data necessary for the preparation of the most strategic and idea driven media plan that best addresses the business objectives and strategies
  • Writes the final media plans and recommendations to be shared with client
  • Works closely with the buying team to discuss the best possible implementation of all approved media plans and projects
  • Maintains the best possible relationship with clients, Account Service, and media representatives in order to further mutual interests of the agency and its clients
  • Maintains such records and prepares such periodic reports as may be necessary
  • Maintains familiarity with the history, present organization, and procedures of the client, as well as, with conditions in the industry
  • Is at all times alert of new media or new methods of using existing media and new developments.  Keeps client and internal team informed of such developments
  • Provides an energy level that brings new and exciting ideas to the planning function
  • Is highly organized and effectively manages all the details associated with media campaigns
  • Adapts to changes in workload and working conditions without loss of productivity
  • Has a sense of urgency to obtain results and meet deadlines
  • Sets priorities and manages time well

 Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in advertising, marketing or communications
  • At least 4 or more years of media strategies specifically within a traditional advertising agency
  • Digital experience a plus
  • A minimum of 1 year of prior experience as a Media Planner Supervisor within an advertising agency
  • Extensive knowledge in marketing, media planning and research of the advertising landscape and digital marketing 
  • Proficiency in key media resources; Simmons, Nielsen, Kantar, ComScore etc.
  • Proficiency budget management and resource planning experience
  • Ability to handle external/media client inquiries and crisis management
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills, solutions-oriented and self-starter
  • Strong client service experience
  • Proven leadership ability and team builder
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects with changing priorities
  • Client and agency travel is required
  • MS Office specifically Excel and PowerPoint, internet research and standard communications database software(s)
