Summary

The Account Executive position is responsible for delivering on advertising revenue goals in their assigned territory. He/she should expect to travel outside of the assigned metro area as needed. He/she reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and works closely with the Marketing and Agency teams.

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Focuses on initiating and developing relationships with key clients within a given territory.
  • Tracks and manages advertiser pipeline to inform and exceed quarterly and annual business goals.
  • Secures strategic level relationships with senior client contacts within the account list or territory region.
  • Sells large native, display, and video advertising, as well as content sponsorships.
  • Collaborates with the Agency team on campaign concepts, collateral development, and sales pitches.
  • Negotiates campaign insertion order terms with clients.
  • Uses Salesforce to record progress with accounts and stay organized.
  • Represents The Daily Dot with a high level of integrity and knowledge and acts as a resource for clients and agencies.
  • Builds and maintains territory ad revenue.
  • Works with existing and potential clients to determine their business needs and formulate an ad sales solution.
  • Prospects for new business and accounts.
  • Provides ideas to help continuously improve our solutions and keeps the company informed about customer feedback and data gathered in the field.
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of recent/relevant advertising sales experience required, including selling online and/or mobile advertising for site specific ad campaigns on a cost per impression (CPM) basis.
  • Solid understanding of digital advertising.
  • Verifiable and current list of agency and client relationships.
  • Prior success in selling Native Advertising desired.
  • Experience of selling magazine or print newspaper advertising a strong plus.
  • Auto, Alcohol, Entertainment, Electronics, Lifestyle and Technology advertising experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, but also a strong team player.
  • Ability to prospect and develop new business.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Capable of multitasking and working in a fast paced environment.
  • Passion for media, advertising, and business.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce and Google apps a plus.
