Country Music Association - Senior Manager of Market Research

The Country Music Association is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Market Research to manage research initiatives related to its’ mission of promoting Country Music.

Essential functions include:

• Think strategically about challenges being faced by segments of the music and entertainment industry and develop research plans to successfully inform market challenges and opportunities.
• Manage research initiatives in support of the CMA strategic plan and priorities. Examples may include market segmentation, market sizing, music consumption analytics, audience measurement and tracking studies.
• Build and manage CMA’s proprietary Country Music consumer panel and executive best practices regarding panel recruitment, management and panel engagement. .
• Analyze and summarize data from proprietary and syndicated sources to identify relationships in consumer behavior and media platforms.
• Contribute to CMA’s commitments regarding presenting and disseminating insights to CMA constituencies; write actionable and compelling reports, articles and white papers; support distribution of research deliverables via CMA channels (website, email, social, etc.).

Requirements for the position include:
• Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent market research or strategic planning experience required. Minimum seven years of experience including a broad scope of market research responsibilities. Music, media or entertainment experience helpful.
• Strong sense of curiosity about the industry and consumer. Passionate about building stories from data and analysis.
• Strategic and creative thinker that enables defining effective research solutions.
• Knowledge of industry and consumer syndicated data sources that support strategic analysis. Work with TV audience measurement, music sales or streaming metrics, Nielsen and other similar tools helpful.
• Strong working knowledge of market research design, methodologies, analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of SPSS (or similar tools) and survey management software platforms. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience using MRI helpful.
• Strong communication skills including interpersonal, live presentations, and written communication ability.
• Ability to create and manage work deliverables with minimal supervision; self-starter.
• Participation in various industry events and activities required.
