RevZilla - SEO Manager

RevZilla is seeking a growth-hacking SEO Manager to protect RevZilla’s position atop the organic search results, ensuring success in our quest for moto-eCommerce dominance.  We want to put you in the driver's seat to accelerate our digital marketing efforts, ultimately showing Google, other search engines, and our competitors who’s the champ.

Reporting to the Performance Marketing Manager, this position focuses on strong technical marketing and analytical skills with a passion for growth-hacking.  The Manager is responsible for end-to-end SEO: managing tactical execution, building site authority, crunching the ranking and performance data, and identifying new opportunities. You will have the full support and partner closely with elite digital athletes across teams including: Tech, Analytics, Creative/Video, Social, and Gear Geeks (AKA Customer Service). Our Manager will be an innately curious, innately digital, analytical thinker who is comfortable operating in beta, always measuring, always optimizing. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Accelerate organic growth for RevZilla.com with a white hat approach.
  • Manage tactical execution of day-to-day SEO strategies.
  • Manage projects through kickoff, requirements analysis, development, testing and launch.
  • Audit RevZilla.com for technical and contextual SEO resulting in actionable project plans.
  • Produce and analyze detailed reports on SEO performance data and key findings including site authority and rankings for key head, mid, and tail queries. Includes looking at impact across combined SERP efforts (eg. SEO+PPC+Shopping).
  • Drive Content Strategy including: conducting in-depth content gap analyses, delivering competitive & audience analysis, driving keyword research, and identifying influencer opportunities.
  • Evaluate prospective site changes and vendor implementations for SEO impact that may affect revenue, traffic, and rankings.
  • Collaborate with Video, Content, Marketing, Design, Tech, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams to ensure a consistently positive user experience.
  • Identify untapped SEO growth-hacking opportunities for testing.
  • Manage RevZilla’s relationship with their SEO Agency: establishing work scope, analyzing reports and work product, ensuring alignment with brand tone/voice, challenging ideas, and maximizing their time and expertise to drive performance.
  • Monitor changes in the Search Engine Optimization space, researching and analyzing industry developments and assessing impact to RevZilla’s business. 

Bag of Tricks (AKA Skills & Qualifications) Required:

  • 3+ years of SEO experience with a proven track-record of SEO success and troubleshooting with measurable impact
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO (Canonicalization, Sitemaps, Crawl Budget etc.) and Content Strategy
  • Proficiency with web marketing tools, Google services, and website analytics including tools/platforms like: Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, SEMRush, Conductor, Moz Pro, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics
  • Strong analytical skills and experience leveraging data from a number of platforms/tools
  • Strong copywriting and written communication
  • Experience integrating SEO with other channels
  • Established project management leadership  
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and deliver multiple projects to deadline
  • Excellent creative, leadership and organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, team environment

Bonus Skills in your fannypack:

  • 2+ years managing large e-commerce sites
  • Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript
  • Proficiency manipulating data via API with JavaScript or Python
  • Paid Search channel management (or close collaboration with Paid Search team)
  • Expertise in Mobile and Video SEO
