Scholastic Inc. - Associate Manager, Email Marketing

THE OPPORTUNITY

The eScholastic team is searching for an Associate Manager of Email Marketing.  This associate manger  is responsible for email and social marketing processes for the educator channel. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and leverage integrated communication channels to achieve system-wide conversion goals, foster engagement, drive visits to Scholastic.com and e-commerce purchases in Scholastic’s various online ordering sites.

This position works with external email and social media platforms, internal business units and editorial/marketing managers to drive results across Scholastic’s web properties. Strategic and innovative thinking, direct marketing expertise, analytical skills and accurate work are a must, as is the ability to have fun in a challenging and demanding environment. The Associate Manager of Email will formulate specific email communication strategies and campaigns in support of Scholastic.com’s content and commerce channels and the in-school market, ensuring accountability through measurement.
 
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  •  Serve as business unit marketing liaison for email project brief completions/discussions
  • Research and maintain information on competitor emails, industry stats and industry developments
  • Assist in coordination of internal training sessions for cross-business unit email education
  • Liaison with Internal and External Creative Services
  • Develop, execute and manage strategic and tactical elements of the email marketing campaign
  • Establish email marketing initiatives business units, including campaign objectives, messaging and potential concepts
  • Create and develop targeted and trigger-based email campaigns, delivering tailored marketing messages to segments of the email list
  • Provide basic design and code modifications throughout campaign
  • Explore additional ways to serve the customer by developing new campaign types (including social)
  • Best practices documentation and posting to Intranet
  • Implement and optimize Social Media campaigns using Facebook Ad platform
  • Continually develop, measure and optimize campaigns using A/B and multivariate testing
  • Provide support to business units who rely on email marketing for their segment of the business; communicate strategy and results while working with departments to understand and optimize
  • Prepare daily, monthly, fiscal and ad-hoc email summary reports measuring key performance metrics
  • Responsible for contributing content to the email best practices newsletter

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • 2+ years experience in database marketing or customer relationship marketing program development
  • 2+ years experience utilizing outbound email marketing, ideally B-to-C environment
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Project management experience required
  • Keen understanding of Internet-based consumer behavior and direct marketing principles
  • Working knowledge of general web technologies, HTML
  • Solid organization, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to offer creative marketing solutions in response to data analysis
  • Experience with Javascript and Advanced SQL also helpful     
  • Expertise in catalog direct marketing a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Marketing Cloud, MS Access and HTML required
