Ameriprise Financial - Director, Paid Media, Planning and Media Analytics

Responsible for shaping and delivering the Enterprise Media Strategy to achieve goals, working closely with Advertising, Brand, Content, Columbia Threadneedle and Interactive Marketing teams to seamlessly incorporate as part of the overall strategic communications plan.

Responsibilities

• Manage agency relationship, ensuring best-in-class creation and execution of media-related activities. Drive efficiency and effectiveness in all planning and buying activities.
• Lead the development of brand media plans in support of overall brand objectives; develop key performance indicators to ensure media effectiveness.
• Be the subject matter expert and thought leader in all media - Identifying and sharing media best practices and benchmarks across brands; highlighting opportunities to test, learn and optimize/evolve based on knowledge and understanding of consumer and advisor insights, competitive media initiatives, new channels and/or offerings by channel.
• Closely partner with other members of the Marketing Strategy, Advertising, Content, Columbia Threadneedle and Interactive Marketing team to produce, analyze and track performance of in-market and test campaigns.
• Develop a standard for media reporting/analytics to provide insights, implications and recommendations to optimize media campaigns.
• Leverage data-driven insights and sophisticated modeling techniques to guide and inform media investment strategies across data management platforms.
• Support Field Engagement and Acquisition teams in identifying and responding to the local marketing needs of field advisors, with particular emphasis on providing subject matter expertise related to individual media and sponsorship initiatives.
• Provide leadership to direct reports including mentoring, coaching and annual performance reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 7 to 10 years Relevant Experience Required.
• Deep understanding of all media channels- candidate must be knowledgeable in both traditional media (including TV) and digital media.
• Clear understanding of the evolving media landscape; must be able to interpret and apply changes back to business objectives.
• Proven ability to develop and manage paid media plans that meet or exceed business objectives.
• Deep understanding of the data marketplace and application of 1st and 3rd party data sources that can build more intelligence into media.
• Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills.
• Innovative thinker and collaborative team player.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• Experience working in Financial Services or another highly regulated category.
• Experience working in a matrixed organization.
