Calling All ROI: Time to Show Our Hands
The pre-game show is over; the tests are in. Major brands have been dabbling in a mobile marketplace that generates more hype than light, more good intentions for investment than actual budget commitments. Now it is time for this platform to show its hand and demonstrate precisely where and how it adds to media and marketing’s bottom line.
OMMA Mobile calls everyone hands: marketers, vendors, brands and carrier to show us their proof and their numbers. What are the best campaigns out there, and what return did advertisers expect and get? More to the point, where do mobile technologies and brand strategies need to bet next finally to cash in on the platform’s potential?

OMMA Mobile will focus on ROI and results, especially in the entertainment and media business. Televison, film, magazines and music industries all launched major mobile initiatives this year and tweaked some older models. From TV text-in programs to branded games, dedicated iPhone apps to mobile video on demand, on-deck music stores to the emerging ringback market, media companies finally are serious about getting a toehold on mobile. Are users picking up the call?
OMMA Mobile raises the ante on mobile marketing as the industry prepares to enter the high stakes game of multi-platform media planning.

Listen in on the Discussion from MediaPost's Last OMMA Mobile Conference:

OMMA Mobile was one of the best events I’ve attended this year. The programming was superb; each panel had speakers who were well-prepared, insightful, provided great value to the topic. I was particularly impressed with the final panel on the mobile agency business. This was an extremely engaging session, led by John Hadl. All of the moderators were able speakers and quite obviously thought leaders in their own rights. The setting for the event was quite appropriate – the room was commodious and enabled easy back-and-forth traffic between the corridors and outside courtyard, where engaging conversations were held throughout the day. OMMA Mobile has developed a strong reputation for creating the most professional environment for the mobile industry to meet and do business. It is a bellwether in the semi-annual “state of the industry,” from my perspective, and I am continually impressed by how much effort is poured into producing the best event of its kind. It is a seamless, live extension of the kind of coverage that Steve Smith and his group produce all year round on the web and in print, and I hope that more companies realize how valuable this forum is for trading ideas, learning about the industry, and engaging in the “next” phase of our business.
