Still, "Alex" isn't winning in any of the key daytime demographics--it is a distant second to "The Tyra Banks Show" in women 18-34, with a 0.8 rating. In older women demos it does a bit better--scoring a 1.1 number for woman 18-49, second place to "Tyra." Its best numbers are with women 25-54--the key advertising demographic for daytime. "Alex" ties "Tyra" with a 1.3 rating for that viewer group. "Tyra" still thrives with younger women--more or less taking over from the young women demo mantle of Ricki Lake. "Tyra" dominates women 18-34 with 1.7--which is more than double the rating of "Alex" and "Martha."
Overall, "Tyra" grew 12 percent to a 1.9 household rating--a season high.
NBC Universal's "Martha" also posted a 1.9 household number, up 6 percent over the week before. Its most dominant demo--women 25-54--earned a 1.2 rating. "Martha" sits in last place among new daytime shows with women 18-49 (a 1.1 rating) and with women 18-34 (a 0.8 rating). All the new off-network strips were off versus the week before: Disney's "My Wife and Kids" was down 12 percent to a 2.2; Twentieth's "Bernie Mac" was off 4 percent, also to a 2.2; Warner Bros.' "Sex and the City" fell 5 percent to a 2.0; and Debmar/Mercury's "South Park" slipped 6 percent to a 1.5.
In the weekly off-network hour category, Buena Vista Television's "Alias" was down 4 percent to a 2.4; Twentieth's "24" was up 5 percent to a 2.2; Program Partners' "Da Vinci's Inquest" improved 6 percent to a 1.9; Warner Bros.' "Smallville" was even with a 1.8; and Sony Pictures Television's "Stargate: Atlantis" was down 17 percent to a 1.5.
In a bit of a surprise, Paramount Television's "Star Trek: Enterprise" soared 14 percent to a 1.6.
