On the new site, Editor Jon Meacham will be expected to talk to readers every week in a video message, highlighting the stories "behind the news," and new features on the site.
Other new features include breaking news updates, a dynamic display of top stories, a "Top Ten" monitor of the most viewed stories, and alternative ways of navigating the site, including a "Preview" feature that permits readers to see synopses of the site's stories.
The site's design features a straightforward top bar navigation, with a clear, recognizable way to move through the magazine's sections. A "Traveling Home Page" is a collapsible bar that can expand and give readers instant access to the Newsweek.com home page from any page on the site.
A large multimedia box is fixed in the top right-hand side of the page to showcase the site's video and photo galleries. The site will also host 14 new blogs in various categories, such as politics, parenting, science and technology and business.
