The dream of some TV network executives is to have one site where consumers can get all network programming--the original intent of Hulu.com, the NBC-Fox Internet TV platform. One recently launched Internet site has a better idea. PrimeTimeRewind.com uses the free video links of every available full-length network program and presents those shows in an easier format for consumers to access.

PrimeTimeRewind uses a rotating cube that can be navigated by a mouse or cursor to find shows. PrimeTimeRewind does not have its own player; rather, it presents each episode in each network's individual player.

"We provide a much easier experience if you want to find a show to watch," says Jeff Pulver, co-founder and chairman, who founded the company that became Internet phone company Vonage.

PrimeTimeRewind, currently in alpha test phase, says the Internet destination's initial intention is to give consumers an easier way to get to networks' shows--with as few clicks as possible. A secondary goal is to drive traffic to network TV sites.

"We are leveraging everyone's platforms together," says Pulver. NBC, Fox, CBS, ABC, and CW shows are on the site, as well as some cable networks--Bravo, TNT and USA. Every TV show is aired complete with all advertising intact from the network's original Web sites.

At present, PrimeTimeRewind has no program deals with the networks. Its promotion of network shows is free. Pulver says monetizing the site is not an issue right now. Someday the networks might place some advertising, in the form of a tune-in spot, on the site--provided there is enough traffic to warrant it, he says.

"First we have to establish ourselves," says Pulver.

Pulver founded the site along with Amit Shafrir. Shafrir, the former president of AOL Premium Services, is the CEO of PrimeTimeRewind.

PrimeTimeRewind's "cube" can be personalized, available as an embeddable widget. Users can take their favorite show to their blog or social site, such as Facebook or MySpace.
