MeasureCast, Inc. today announced that Internet broadcasters streamed more hours of programming last week than they have during any other week this year.

The MeasureCast Internet Radio Index for the week of June 4 to June 10 had its most dramatic increase so far this year, rising 18.6 percent from 152 to 180, meaning the total number of hours streamed by on-line broadcasters has increased 80 percent since January. The Index tracks the total number of hours streamed by on-line broadcasters, and is a representation of the trend in Total Time Spent Listening (TTSL) across a spectrum of stations measured by MeasureCast.

Sixteen of the week's top 25 finishers were Internet-only stations. Among the top 23 comparable stations from the previous week's ranking, 17 experienced increases in the total number of hours streamed, and 16 showed an increase in estimated audience size, or CUME. Significant increases in TTSL were made by Santa Monica College's KCRW/89.9-FM (up 55%), and by RadioMargaritaville.com (up 53%). KDYA/1190-AM, a Vallejo, California Gospel station streamed by WarpRadio.com, increased its TTSL by 46 percent.

MeasureCast Top 25T newcomer BeOnAir.com placed two stations in this week's ranking. Their Rock station won the ninth slot, while their Alternative station secured the 10th position. Another MeasureCast rankings newcomer is Ultimate80s.com, an Internet-only station owned by Discombobulated, LLC.
