Online Sponsorship Market PlaceVine Closes Funding

  • February 26, 2009
PlaceVine, a startup that runs an online marketplace for sponsorship and brand integration opportunities, has secured an undisclosed financing from public-private venture fund NYCSeed.

The company said it would use the capital to expand its system for connecting marketers and agencies with product placement, sponsorship and branded entertainment opportunities in film, television and new media.

The company, with offices in Los Angeles and New York, said some 300 content producers and 200 brands and agencies now use its service including FremantleMedia, producer of "American Idol" and other shows. Marketer licenses for PlaceVine start at $145 per user.

Through its Web-based system, the company promises to reduce the costs of sourcing, monitoring and managing integration deals, allowing brands to spend more time creating marketing programs.--Mark Walsh
