Celebrity Coaches Sing Praises Of 'Guitar Hero' Games

  • March 31, 2009
Activision continues its strategy of celebrities singing and dancing in their underwear to tout the popular "Guitar Hero" game franchise with a new college basketball-themed spot. In the new commercial, coaches Bobby Knight, Rick Pitino (University of Louisville), Mike Krzyzewski (Duke) and Roy Williams (University of North Carolina) don the game's instruments and jam to Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll," just as other celebrities did in previous spots. At the end of the spot, the members of Metallica (who are the stars of the newest "Guitar Hero" game iteration) confront the legendary coaches, unimpressed. The commercial will run through the NCAA championship game next week.
