TGIF Runs Triple Promo For Mom's Day

  • April 9, 2009
TGIF Friday's is looking to beat the rest of the restaurant pack to the punch this Mother's Day by announcing a triple-pronged promotion a whole month in advance.

More than 600 participating locations are repeating the chain's offer of a free dessert for mom with purchase of an entrée. (Last year, more than 50,000 complimentary desserts were served.) Moms can choose either Friday's Brownie Obsession or its Spiced Up Cupcakes.

In addition, members of Friday's "Give Me More Stripes" guest recognition program (now numbering more than 840,000) who eat at the chain on Mother's Day will receive emails bearing a one-time-use "buy one entrée, get one free" coupon that is redeemable through May 31.

Finally, recognition program members will receive double points or "stripes" on the holiday. That means that instead of needing to spend $100 to earn 100 stripes -- which translate to an $8 gift certificate -- members need only spend $50 on Mother's Day to earn a certificate.

The holiday offers are being supported by public relations, on the Friday's Web site, and through in-restaurant promotions, according to the company. --Karlene Lukovitz
