Super Spots Results

  • January 30, 2001
The Super Bowl has been played, the fans have gone home, and NTN Communications has finished up their poll of the most popular ads during the game. NTN has an interactive TV network comprised of 3,000 restaurants, taverns and sports bars where people can play along with live events like the Super Bowl.

NTN spokesman, Mark Degorter said that for the Super Bowl the company decided to run a series of questions about the commercials, where people were given a device that allowed them to rank the ad spots from 1 to 4 (4 being the highest), or "didn't see/remember."

According to the results, this year, Anheuser-Busch was the big winner, scoring the most popular spot with their "alien pooch" ad, closely followed by their "Cedric's blind date," and "pencil pushing geeks," spots. Degorter added that this is not an exact science, saying, "the visuals need to carry the ad, because they are being showed in distracting, and loud environments."

Anheuser-Busch also came in first in USA Today's ad poll.
