Report: McCann Wins Olympics, Pays To Do So

Interpublic's McCann Erickson unit won the coveted advertising account to promote the 2012 London Olympic Games, besting rival WPP Group, reports the Financial Times. In an ironic case of role reversal, the Interpublic shop reportedly is paying $15 million in the form of marketing services for the right to market the games, but will receive in-kind value as an official Olympics sponsor.
