The New York Times Company reported that pro forma advertising revenue for its Newspaper Group decreased 7.5% for February 2001. Pro forma advertising revenue excludes seven newspapers and nine telephone directories (divested Regionals) sold in the second half of 2000.

In February 2000, advertising revenue for the Group was particularly strong, increasing 15.2% (excluding the divested Regionals and Worcester Telegram & Gazette (T&G) acquired January 7, 2000).

Beginning in 2001, advertising revenue and volume information for The Boston Globe and the T&G will be reported as the New England Newspaper Group.
