Capital Debut: Air America Airs On WZAA

Air America Media will debut on 1050 AM in Washington, D.C. at midnight, operating under new call letters: WZAA. It will also stream online at www.airamericawashington.com. The station will air Air America's political voice in the nation's capital 24/7, including Rachel Maddow, Ana Marie Cox, Ron Reagan and Arianna Huffington. Bill Hess, senior vice president of programming of Air America Media, said the station will also produce regularly scheduled local programming. Martin Sheehan, former Clear Channel and ESPN Radio executive, has been named station manager.
