USA Today has canceled
Open Air magazine for a second time. The news comes not long after
The Chicago Tribune revealed it's closing its weekly magazine, as well as disruptions and
shakeups at some other big titles.
Open Air first launched as a quarterly magazine in March 2008, focusing on active lifestyles for affluent consumers, including outdoor sports, travel and
tourism and nutrition. The spring 2009 issue hit newsstands on Monday, April 20th; however,
USA Today and
USA Weekend have nixed the publication's summer and fall issues, blaming
continuing weakness in the economy.
