Traffic to Rushlimbaugh.com totaled 399,000 unique visitors at home, compared to 250,000 visitors during the previous week. Men comprised 70% of the total traffic, while women surfers made up 30%.
Nineteen percent of the traffic to Limbaugh's site visited the Web page featuring a radio interview with Republican Party nominee, George W. Bush, while 15% of the traffic hit the section profiling the recent Rolling Stone Magazine cover of vice president Al Gore.
"With less than two weeks to go before the presidential election, sites with strong political ties and opinions are positioning themselves to capture Internet eyeballs," said Allen Weiner, vice president of analytical services, NetRatings. "Just like the radio show, Rush Limbaugh's site serves as a venue to disseminate political opinions, capturing the attention of Web surfers."
