HuffPo Names Journalist To Launch Tech Section

The Huffington Post has announced that Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas will head its new Technology and Innovations section when that latest in its ever-expanding group verticals launches in September. As Editor, Vargas will be responsible for the launch and continuing coverage of tech innovations and innovators across politics, media, business, and social networking.

"I have long admired Jose's coverage of the intersection of politics and technology, and his passion for exploring and communicating the many ways technological innovations impact our culture and our lives," said co-founder and Editor in Chief Arianna Huffington. "He's ideally qualified to launch our new Technology section and he'll play a key role in helping to drive HuffPost's continued innovation -- from leveraging social networking to expanding the ways we use citizen journalism."

Vargas has worked as a reporter at The Washington Post since 2005. He won a Pulitzer in 2007 as part of a team covering the Virginia Tech massacre.
