Arkadium Unveils Enhancements for Brand Marketers

  • July 21, 2009
Arkadium, provider of game solutions for the advergame and casual game markets, announced Tuesday the acquisition of Advergame.com and the revamp of its popular gaming portal, GreatDayGames.com. These initiatives have been brought on in hopes of redefining advergames to brand marketers and online publishers. The company's gaming community platform Arena has undergone a bit of product enhancement as a key strategy in Arkadium's efforts.

The enhancements consist of new customization, communication, and behavioral features that are intended to hone in on the behaviors and desires of casual gamers. CEO of Arkadium Kenny Rosenblatt feels it is important to expand on bringing hardcore gamers "targeted branding experiences" instead of "scampering to find new viable business models." He elaborates: "Casual gamers spend thousands of hours playing online and are highly receptive to relevant advertisements. Our recent actions will allow us to better understand and fully monetize this highly desirable audience by showing them offers that are behaviorally targeted, relevant and improve their game play experience."

New features that are available to all of Arkadium's Arena Clients are: Loyalty system API, which allows clients to extend their existing loyalty system beyond the game areas of the site, and social capabilities that help clients further the social community experience with friend requests, notifications, etc. Other new features are the avatar creator, which allows users to create an identity online, and the Quick Tab feature to bookmark favorite games, Improved leader boards, and updated game pages.

Arkadium serves more than 120 million page views per month, and users spend an average of 20 minutes each session on sites like ABC, AARP, ESPN, Classmates, and CBS. With this, many demographics are reached.--Amanda Domurad
