NPR Revamps Site, Adds Mobile Apps

NPR, the public radio network, is introducing a revamped NPR.org this week, that emphasizes written reporting over audio reports, notes The New York Times. The move is part of its digital expansion, along with the new tagline: "Always On." There are also mobile applications to make NPR more available on other formats. Vivian Schiller, NPR's president and chief executive, said: "We are a news content organization, not just a radio organization." Next year, the site will offer NPR shows for downloading on demand.
