Lagardere Denies Any Bid For 'Elle'

The New York Post reported that Paris-based Lagardére was in talks with Hearst Corp. about taking over the American operations of fashion magazine Elle. The French company quickly issued a disclaimer: "Lagardère Active, HFM US parent company, formally denies being in negotiation with Hearst Corp Group. There are no ongoing talks on a joint venture or licensing agreement with Hearst Corp Group regarding Elle magazine in the U.S."
