Retail Advertisers Up Search Ad Spend

Retail advertisers in July upped search ad spending for the first time this year, according to a new report issued by the agency Performics, reports Mediaweek. Bing may indirectly benefit from the growth.

According to Performics, part of Publicis Groupe's VivaKi, its retail clients increased search spending in July by 13% versus the same period in '08. The agency also recorded increased spending in the auto category, thanks to the government's Cash for Clunkers initiative.
