PowerAdz.com, a provider of Internet infrastructure services for newspapers, announced that it has acquired the customer base of Michigan-based The Internet Edition, Inc. (TIE). The TIE acquisition adds another 34 newspaper affiliates, and a combined print circulation of 400,000, to PowerAdz' Zwire! Network. Zwire! is one of the largest online newspaper networks in the country, with over 1,500 newspaper affiliates representing communities across the United States.

Beginning in December, the 34 Internet Edition affiliates, including the La Peer (MI) County Press and the Brunswick (GA) News, will begin the process of migrating to Zwire!, PowerAdz' turnkey online business solution for newspapers. During the transition, PowerAdz will be rolling out a new publishing interface and branding technology that allows the papers to keep much of their customized design - a specialty of The Internet Edition design team. The additional online papers also extend the reach of Zwire!'s national advertising network.

The TIE acquisition follows PowerAdz' acquisitions of AdQuest Classifieds in September 1998 and CityPapers.com in August 1999.
