Delta Turns JFK Pink For Breast Cancer

  • September 28, 2009
As part of its ongoing support for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Delta Air Lines says it will light the New York-JFK air traffic control tower in pink on Sept. 29, and give some lucky passengers a live in-flight performance by Melissa Etheridge.

Breast cancer survivor Etheridge, the Hard Rock International "Pinktober" Ambassador, is scheduled to perform for Delta employee breast cancer survivors aboard its signature "pink plane" from JFK to Washington, D.C.-Reagan National Airport.

The pink flight is the first in a series of planned activities for October, including flight attendants in pink, selling $2 pink lemonade, with proceeds going directly to the foundation.--Sarah Mahoney
