Burger King Retail Snack Offerings To Expand In 2010

  • October 20, 2009
Two more varieties of Burger King-branded salty snacks for retail sale through licensing will be launched next year, according to BK's food licensing agency, Broad Street Licensing Group.

Broad Street mentioned the as-yet-unspecified new licensed snack varieties in a release announcing that existing Burger King-branded salty snacks, manufactured by The Inventure Group, have been expanded to 17 new countries.

The snacks, which Broad Street describes as a "runaway success" in the U.S., have already been expanded to include onion rings, Hot & Spicy onion rings and French Toast varieties, in addition to the original Ketchup & Fries flavor. All varieties mirror the taste of best-selling BK menu items.

BK snack chips are already sold in more than 30 countries. The new markets include China, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey and Scandinavia.

"The snacks have a strong, loyal following with consumers in the U.S., and are continuing their steady sales growth throughout the global marketplace, often in places where the brand has not developed a strong presence," noted Broad Street president Carole Francesca. --Karlene Lukovitz
