American Starts Serving Sundaes On Sundays

  • October 27, 2009
If you upgrade to business class on American, you might also want to upgrade your belt. On Nov. 1 -- Sunday, appropriately enough -- American Airlines will begin serving Ben & Jerry's sundaes in business class on flights from the United States to Europe, Japan, Latin America, India and China initially. The offer will extend to transcontinental flights beginning Dec. 1.

Flavors, rotating monthly, will include Heath Bar Crunch, Rocky Road, and Cookies & Cream.

"Throughout 2009, we've strategically fine-tuned our in-flight dining experience by adjusting and augmenting our existing service," said John Tiliacos, American's managing director of on-board products, in a release.

Service enhancements include new styles of china and cutlery in first and business classes; new wine glasses in premium cabins on select flights; new baked-on-board cookies in premium cabins on all American Airlines flights; the introduction of an appetizer course and bread plate, as well as a new cheesecake in domestic first class; and a new fresh cake dessert option for customers traveling internationally in economy class.--Karl Greenberg
