Best Buy Expands To Fitness Equipment

  • November 11, 2009
Best Buy thinks it's time for consumers to make better connections between fitness and technology, and says it will now sell fitness equipment in 40 of its stores in key markets.

Aimed primarily at busy moms, the store says it will sell home-exercise equipment, such as treadmills and elliptical machines, but also show customers how to make sure machines work with the electronics they already own.

"From creating a home gym complete with a TV and surround sound to downloading workout data to the home computer, Best Buy's health and fitness products connect technology and workouts," the company says in its release.

Participating stores will also stock the latest heart rate and workout monitoring watches, pedometers, and conditioning accessories, as well as workout-friendly headphones and MP3 accessories.--Sarah Mahoney
