NBCU Expands Sales Team For Verticals

NBC Universal's Integrated Sales marketing team -- which leads the company's targeted cross-platform media deals -- on Tuesday named Eileen Kiernan as its new vice president of integrated sales marketing for Green is Universal and Healthy at NBCU, while Sandra Cordova Micek was named vice president of integrated sales marketing for women at NBCU.

Both Kiernan and Micek will be expected to support the company's overall enterprise marketing sales efforts, helping to identify targeted ad opportunities across a spectrum of NBC Universal platforms.

Kiernan's focus will be Green is Universal and the recently launched Healthy at NBCU initiative. Notably, she is arriving during "Green Week" -- a week of green-themed programming and events, which kicked off across the company on November 15th.

Micek, meanwhile, will be responsible for the company's female-targeted ad sales and marketing initiative, Women at NBCU. In the last year, NBCU has completed several customized enterprise marketing deals across numerous platforms. Clients have included Turbo Tax, American Express, Kodak, General Mills, WalMart and Campbell Soup.

"Clients are looking for customized marketing solutions that achieve scale and engage the right audience," said Maryam Banikarim, SVP of integrated sales marketing at NBC Universal, to whom both Kiernan and Micek are reporting.

Kiernan comes to NBCU from Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, where she led marketing solutions as a senior vice president, supporting MSLO's stable of magazine, digital and television brands. Kiernan joined the company in 2005 as vice president, Magazine Marketing.

Micek worked in Silicon Valley for the last ten years, most of them at Yahoo. Since 2002, she held multiple marketing roles at the company. Micek was part of a newly formed, cross-property, Yahoo Marketing Solutions group. Most recently, as senior director of marketing for the "Connected Life" unit, she managed the mobile and broadband marketing efforts for Yahoo's "Connected Life" products including mobile communications, mobile search, and new products like Yahoo Go.
