iVillage Taps MTV Marketing VP

NBC Universal's iVillage on Thursday appointed Catherine Balsam-Schwaber as SVP of marketing, reporting directly to Jodi Kahn, EVP, iVillage. Balsam-Schwaber, who most recently served as VP of Integrated Marketing for MTV Networks, will now be expected to lead all of iVillage's brand strategy and marketing efforts. In that role, she will also be expected to drive cross-media partnerships, and develop and manage internal relationships across NBCU.

Before joining MTV in 2004, Balsam-Schwaber held executive positions at Rock the Vote, where she drove awareness and voter registrations, and Time Warner, where she was Executive Director in Program Development & Ideation for their Global Marketing Solutions team. ---Gavin O'Malley
