New York Times Reports April Traffic

The New York Times Company reported that for the month of April, year over year traffic increased at the two largest websites of New York Times Digital, its Internet division.

The Internet traffic results for April 2001 versus April 2000 were as follows:
- Page views rose 55% at NYTimes.com, and 45.6% at Boston.com.
- Sessions, or visits, grew 67.3% at NYTimes.com, and 16.2% at Boston.com.

Reach in local markets continued to improve in April, as NYTimes.com was ranked the number one news site among Internet users in the New York DMA, with a 14.4% reach, and Boston.com was ranked the number one news site in the Boston DMA with a 17.1% reach. NYTimes.com remains the No. 1 newspaper site on the Internet and is now the No. 3 news and information site as well.
