AdEX CEO Steps Down

Scott Rewick, CEO of lead generation and online marketing firm AdEx Media, has resigned effective immediately, the company said Monday.

According to the Mountain View-based company, a selection process to find Rewick's replacement is underway. Until then, Joe Abrams, chairman of the board, is serving as interim head.

Rewick, who has headed up the OTC-traded company since its launch in mid-2008, requested to leave the company to pursue other interests.

"I feel it is time to pass the reins as AdEx begins the next phase of sustained growth and profitability," said Rewick, citing the launch of the company's Think Platform and a strong revenue base as key accomplishments.

In November, AdEx reported revenues for the third quarter of 2009 of approximately $6.5 million -- a 261% increase over revenues of approximately $1.8 million from the same quarter for 2008, and revenues for the nine month period ending September 30 of approximately $18.2 million -- a 469% increase over revenues of approximately $3.2 million for the same period last year.

In a new 2010 Social Media Marketing Benchmark Report from MarketingSherpa, an increase in lead generation ranked as the No.2 objective targeted and measured by marketers, led only by an increase in Web site traffic.

Prior to AdEx, from July 2007 to April 2008, Rewick served as president and chief executive officer of LSF Publishing, an international gaming platform.

Earlier in his career, Rewick co-founded Next Internet, a portfolio of online companies, and served with Next Internet from August 2005 to January 2007. From July 2002 to August 2005, Rewick served on the executive team for Connexus -- formerly Netblue -- an online lead generation company, which he co-founded.
