As reported in AdWeek earlier today, Fallon Minneapolis laid off 30 staffers on Tuesday, about 6% of its staff, according to an agency representative. The cuts, which affected all departments at a
"variety of levels," were blamed on the recent economic downturn and reduced client spending, the representative said.
Ad week wrote that the layoffs had been long rumored, but the shop had held off
on eliminating the positions until after it was eliminated from the $400 million AT&T Wireless pitch, the representative said. Earlier this year, 10 staffers were laid off at Fallon's New York office,
about 10% of that staff.
