Now National, Now Popular

  • August 29, 2001
Almost a year after TNN's re-launch, the network has succeeded in boosting its ratings and simultaneously delivering a younger, more targeted audience. August marked the 12th consecutive month of year-to-year growth for TNN, which in September 2000 was re-branded as TNN: THE NATIONAL NETWORK by MTV Networks, its new owner. In August, TNN set another record -- becoming the fastest-growing network in Primetime, with the largest growth of any cable network in household ratings, and in ratings and delivery for Adults 18-49, TNN's target audience. In addition to significant ratings gains, the network simultaneously attracted a younger audience concentrated on its Adult 18-49 core. This August, TNN's median age dropped ten years from 48 to 38 and 20 years in Primetime -- from 55 to 35.
