Sharper Image Hires New CMO

SharperImage.com announced today the hiring of Steve August as its senior vice president and chief marketing officer. August will be responsible for all direct marketing efforts including online, catalog, affiliate, CRM, portals and partnerships. He will also have oversight of all customer analytics and database modeling.
SharperImage.com plans to expand marketing efforts in 2010, including mailing its first catalog in time for Father's Day with additional circulation throughout the balance of the year. The company relaunched its Web site in October.
Prior to joining SharperImage.com, August spent nine years at Brookstone, where he most recently served as operating vice president for customer marketing.--Tanya Irwin
