Oh my NYC family, I know, this morning of torrential rain sucks.  Rain isn't so bad, but when it's coming at you sideways and you can actually hear the trees laughing maniacally as your rain-deflecting shoe of choice fills up like a foot bath, you almost pull the trigger on using one of those "personal days."  But I know you - you're tough.  You're powering through.  You're working; you're gobbling up your MediaPost emails like a tailless squirrel in Madison Square Park gobbles discarded cigarettes.  I'm here with you.  So let's take a look at this week.

Thank you, gods of event calendars , for taking it easy this week -- because next week is going to be ridiculous.  And by ridiculous, I mean awesome.   Tonight, I'm getting my artsy-fartsy-for-good fix over at the Austrian Cultural Forum.  That's where I'll find a photography and film exhibition (yes!) featuring the students from Room 13 in South Africa (grabbed that right off the invitation) called UBUNTU.  A quick dive into their Web site unearthed nothing further, so stay tuned for tomorrow's Just An Online Minute for the goods.  What I do know is ,TBWA is involved -- and I could stay at a photo exhibit for days.

Also today, if you're wondering where some of your coworkers are, they might be at OMMA Performance in San Francisco.  If they're on Twitter, hopefully they're tweeting with the #OMMAPerform hashtag so you can eavesdrop on what kind of coffee snacks and brain food they're ingesting.

Tuesday night I have a secret meeting with my underground gang of people who are 4'11".  Tuesday DAY also happens to be Day two of the San Francisco OMMA Invasion, with OMMA Social kicking off bright and early and wrapping up around 5:30 p.m. (PST) with a cocktail party sponsored by POWERED.   Perhaps they'll serve that San Francisco treat, Rice-a-Roni. If Bobby Brown serenaded the guests with "Tenderoni" while they ate it, well that would just be divine.

Thursday, Jan. 28, is the big , fat, super-duper anniversary to blow all anniversaries out of the water: Digital DUMBO's first year in collecting names and faces celebration.  That's right, Digital DUMBO #12.  I know it's cliché, but I feel like it was only yesterday that I excitedly slipped on my flats and put my heels in a bag for my trip to Brooklyn for some other-borough digital exposure.  It's been a unique trip so far, and I expect, with the event being sponsored by Carrot Creative, that this will be a memorable anniversary throw down.  The invitation snarkily promises carrot juice ; part of me wants that to be real just to see peoples' reactions.

Friday I'll be spending most of my time at the cloners getting either my entire self cloned or just my feet.  I'll let you know how it goes  -- or an exact duplicate will.

I feel like I'm forgetting something this week, but you know what, it's Monday - I've got time to figure it out.

As always, send invitations to kelly@mediapost.com!
