eFax Parent J2 Acquires Three Related Companies

Los Angeles-based j2 Global Communications, which operates the eFax and eVoice systems, said it has made three acquisitions, including the email assets of Quexion. The fax assets of Comodo Communications, which runs a fax to email system branded as TrustFax, was also acquired -- as were the voice assets of a United Kingdom company. Publicly traded j2 said the acquisitions were not expected to be material and did not release terms.

EFax is available in 3,500 cities in 46 countries. J2 does offer businesses an opportunity to deliver faxes to email boxes, but that is a small portion of its operations.

Last February, j2 acquired CallWave's digital faxing business for $11.9 million, which it also said was not material, but provided an additional customer base.

Company revenues for the first nine months of 2009 were $184.7 million, up from $180.1 million the year before.
