iVillage Expands Edit Staff

  • February 2, 2010

Rounding out its team of section editors, iVillage has added a trio of new content experts: Kelly Alfieri, who was named lifestyles editor; Jennifer Barrett, who will oversee the site's soon-to-be-relaunched health section; and Christine Fenno, as deputy editor of iVillage's entertainment section.

The new hires are part of the iVillage relaunch that began in September.

Alfieri was previously director of Cookiemag.com, the online arm of Cookie magazine, and before that worked at MTV.com. As iVillage's lifestyles editor, she'll head the relaunched Food site as well as the Style and Home verticals.

Barrett joins iVillage from Newsweek, where she helped start the magazine's online health section. Fenno's background includes stints at Entertainment Weekly and Marie Claire. Alfieri and Barrett will report to Angela Matusik, iVillage's chief content executive, while Fenno will report to Entertainment Editor Serena Kappes.

NBC Universal-owned iVillage said it had 32 million monthly unique visitors as of December, citing comScore data. That audience is up about 5% from the 30.5 million comScore publicly reported in October. --Mark Walsh
