Digitas Names Lin To Creative SVP Post

Publicis' Digitas on Tuesday appointed Joe Lin as creative senior vice president for its Stamford office, with a particular focus on the Delta account.

Lin will report to Lincoln Bjorkman, executive vice president and executive creative director for Digitas' New York region, and will be expected to partner closely with Kenneth Parks, managing director of the Stamford office.

"It's an opportunity for me to leverage my years of experience and dedication to integrated creative," Lin said of his new role.

Lin comes from Publicis Modem Asia, where he worked as executive creative director, where he built out the Pan Asian Modem network and developed integrated brand and interactive strategies for Hewlett Packard, Cisco, LG Electronics, P&G and Garnier.

Publicis has recently responded to the rise of digital media with some major structural changes.

Most notably, in the wake of its Razorfish acquisition, Publicis late last year named Colin Kinsella -- then chief innovation officer at Razorfish -- CEO of Digitas North America.

The position has been empty since Laura Lang was promoted to her current global position as Digital CEO, which was triggered by former Digitas chief David Kenny taking over the Publicis VivaKi unit, as well as de facto chief digital strategy officer.

Prior to Publicis Modem Asia, Lin was creative director and vice president at Publicis Dialog San Francisco, where he led a team of about 30 creatives, and developed integrated brand, interactive, and direct marketing strategies for Sprint SBS, Hewlett Packard, WebEx and BMW.

Lin also did time as an independent creative consultant, along with positions at Saatchi & Saatchi Vision/Darwin Digital and the E-greetings Network.
