In advance of its official relaunch on Feb. 15, AccuWeather.com is giving its roughly 60,000 Facebook fans a sneak peek at its new site on Monday. The new site includes a streamlined look and feel, lifestyle weather sections, and custom content integrations.

"We have a huge fan base on Facebook," said Barry Lee Myers, CEO of AccuWeather, Inc. "The new site is designed to enhance their experience, and the experience of advertisers -- which is quite unique."

In fact, AccuWeather found that both advertisers and readers were interested in similar site improvements. "Advertisers were looking for less clutter and busyness, and so were consumers."

In addition to its overall streamlining, the new site includes new sizes and placements for ad insertions, as well as new opportunities for marketers to sponsor weather content.

AccuWeather is working directly with advertisers to create custom content integrations -- which, according to Myers, "connect the dots between the advertising messages and users' needs for weather information."

The Catalyst Group, a New York-based Web design firm, worked closely with AccuWeather's in-house design team to create the new site.

The new site will launch with four special interest sections: Weather and Health, Weather and Travel, Weather and Home and Garden, and Weather and Outdoor Activity. Other special interest areas are scheduled to launch throughout the year, including Weather and Sports, Weather and Fantasy Sports, and Weather and the Earth.

AccuWeather claims to reach over 125 million Americans each day via the Internet, mobile devices and IPTV, through the airwaves, and in print.

AccuWeather also provides content onto more than 50,000 third-party Internet sites, including CNN Interactive, the ABC-Owned Television Station Group, and WashingtonPost.com.
